ASCI 19 Feeds and Feeding

Prerequisites: ASCI 10 Principles of Animal Science with a grade of “C” or better and successful completion of Prealgebra or appropriate placement as determined by the college’s multiple measures assessment process.
This course, the science of animal nutrition, is the basis for “Livestock Feeding and Nutrition”. The fundamentals of digestion and absorption in both ruminants and non-ruminants are discussed. The nutritive value of feeds as they relate to the formulation of livestock rations will be emphasized including by-product feeding. (CSU, C-ID AG-AS 132L)
