BUS 50SS Special Studies: Multidisciplinary Units: 1-3 Prerequisites: BIM 38 Office Technologies and Procedures or BIM 39 Office Management or BIM 43 Records Management in Public Agencies or BIM 81 Records and Database Management or BUS 1A Principles of Accounting or BUS 18A Business Law or BUS 18B Business Law or BUS 19 Legal Environment of Business or BUS 20 Introduction to Business or BUS 21 Marketing or BUS 23 Advertising or BUS 33 Introduction to Public Administration and Policy or BUS 88 Introduction to Municipal Clerkship or BUS 40 Real Estate Principles or BUS 41 Real Estate Practice or BUS 43 Legal Aspects of Real Estate or BUS 51 Introduction to Transportation or BUS 57 Introduction to Logistics or BUS 94D The Law and the Small Business or BUS 94E Marketing and Advertising Strategies for Small Business with a grade of “C” or better. Limitations on Enrollment: A student must have completed a minimum of 12 units at the District and have a 2.5 minimum overall grade point average within the course discipline. In addition, an independent study contract must be signed by the student, instructor of record, and dean who will certify the student is qualified for enrollment. This course is designed for the student qualified to do advanced work in the fields of accounting, advertising, banking, business, business information management, co-operative and social enterprises, finance, human resources, labor relations, land use development and investment, law, logistics, marketing, nonprofits, public administration, public affairs, public or social policy, real estate, social/economic justice and corporate social responsibility, or urban planning. The course may include research, directed reading, field work, or advanced study which must be arranged and approved by the instructor and the Dean before enrolling in the course. (CSU)
