MATH 37EX College Algebra with Support Units: 4 Prerequisites: Successful completion of Intermediate Algebra or appropriate placement as determined by the multiple measures assessment process . This course is a college-level course in algebra for liberal arts majors. Topics include absolute value, linear, polynomial, rational, radical, exponential, and logarithmic equations and functions, analyzing functions using graphing technologies, investigating function applications in the real-world, systems of equations and analytic geometry. This course may also provide algebra preparation for Precalculus, Applied Calculus or Finite Math. This course includes lab-time to provide just-in-time review of prerequisite skills, extra content instruction, and active learning opportunities to support student learning. A graphing calculator is recommended. Instructor demonstrations utilize a Texas Instruments graphing calculator. Since MATH 37EX and MATH 37 are equivalent courses, credit may be awarded for either MATH 37EX or MATH 37 but not both. (HBCU, UC, CSU)
