CHEM 1A General Chemistry Units: 5 Hours: 54 hours LEC; 108 hours LAB Grade Options: Letter Grade General Education: Delta Area 2; CSU Area B1; IGETC Area 5A Prerequisites: CHEM 3A Introduction to Chemistry or one year high school chemistry with a grade of “C” or better, and successful completion of Intermediate Algebra or appropriate placement as determined by the college’s multiple measures assessment process . This course is designed as a technical introduction to chemistry for the student intending to major in chemistry, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and other science oriented careers which require a rigorous understanding of the fundamental principles of chemistry.
