CHEM 10 Exploring Everyday Chemistry Units: 3 Hours: 54 hours LEC Grade Options: Letter Grade General Education: Delta Area 2; CSU Area B1; IGETC Area 5A Prerequisites: Successful completion of Beginning Algebra or appropriate placement based as determined by the college’s multiple measures assessment process . This course is designed to provide an introduction to chemistry and the role it plays in modern society. The course is designed for non-science majors such as liberal arts, social science, education, or anyone who is curious about the chemistry involved in everyday things. The student learns about topics of current interest and global importance, including global warming, depletion of the ozone layer, energy, and health issues. (HBCU, UC, CSU, C-ID CHEM 100)
