ECON 3 Principles of Microeconomics Units: 3 Hours: 54 hours LEC Grade Options: Letter Grade General Education: Delta Area 5; CSU Area D; IGETC Area 4 Prerequisites: Successful completion of Beginning Algebra or appropriate placement as determined by the college’s multiple measures assessment process . Advisories: Successful completion of Intermediate Algebra, and ENG 1A or ENG 2A with a grade of “C” or better. This is an introductory course focusing on choices of individual economic decision-makers. Topics include scarcity, specialization and trade, market equilibrium, elasticity, production and cost theory, market structures, factor markets, and market failure. (HBCU, UC, CSU, C-ID ECON 201)
