H S 72 Introduction to Pharmacology for Health Science Units: 3 Hours: 54 hours LEC Grade Options: Letter Grade or Pass/No Pass Prerequisites: BIOL 31 Human Anatomy , BIOL 32 Human Physiology , or BIOL 33 Anatomy & Physiology with a grade of “C” or better. This course is an introduction to pharmacological concepts for health care workers. The concepts of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, ethical and legal aspects of medication administration, major drug classifications that are used in the treatment of diseases, and drug dosage calculation using dimensional analysis are presented using a body systems approach. Units earned in this course do not count toward the associate degree.
