This course is a survey of non-western music. It addresses cultures that exhibit a minimum of western (European and American) influence from major geographic regions of the world including Australia, China, Japan, Indonesia, India, Turkey, the Arabic Middle East, eastern and western central Africa, South America, and native North America.
