PSYC 2 Statistical Methods for Psychology & Social Science Units: 3 Hours: 54 hours LEC Grade Options: Letter Grade General Education: Delta Area 1B; CSU Area B4; IGETC Area 2 Term Typically Offered: Every term Prerequisites: Successful completion of Intermediate Algebra or appropriate placement as determined by the college’s multiple measures assessment process . Advisories: PSYC C1000 with a grade of “C” or better. This course is an introduction to the basic statistical methods and analyses commonly used in psychological and sociological research. Topics include: descriptive and inferential statistics usually include levels and types of measurement; measures of central tendency and dispersion; normal, t, and chi-square distributions; probability and hypothesis testing; correlation and regression. Applications of statistical software to psychology, sociology and/or other social science data required.(UC, CSU, C-ID SOCI 125)
