MATH 38BEX Precalculus II with Support Units: 4.5 Hours: 72 hours LEC; 36 hours LAB Grade Options: Letter Grade General Education: Delta Area 1B; CSU Area B4 Prerequisites: Successful completion of Intermediate Algebra or appropriate placement as determined by the college’s multiple measures assessment process . This is part II of a preparatory course for Calculus. In this course, emphasis is placed on the trigonometry and analytic geometry knowledge necessary for success in Calculus. Topics include trigonometric functions, trigonometric applications, polar coordinates, vectors, and linear and non-linear systems. This course includes lab time to provide just-in-time review of prerequisite skills, extra content instruction, and active learning opportunities to support student learning. Graphing calculators may be required. Since MATH 38BEX and MATH 38B are equivalent courses, credit may be awarded for either MATH 38BEX or MATH 38B but not both. (UC, CSU)
