This classroom/lab is designed to prepare students to move successfully into the Construction Building Trades Apprenticeship. Students learn introductory construction skills used by Sheet Metal Workers, Electricians, Painters, Plumber/Pipefitters, Iron Workers, Masons, Operating Engineers, and more. Through in-person expert demonstrations for each trade and under the guidance of their instructor, students learn history, safety practices, trade norms, tools, working conditions, and methodology used for each trade. Students may also learn about other building trades via special guest speakers. Units earned in this course do not count toward the Associate degree.
