AERO 30 Private Pilot Ground School Units: 3 Hours: 54 hours LEC Grade Options: Letter Grade or Inc. Limitations on Enrollment: The student must be at least 16 years of age and meet all requirements found in FAR Part 141 Appendix B (2). The student must be able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language. If there is a doubt, use AC 60-28, English Language Skill Standards. The student must prove U.S. citizenship in accordance with 49 CFG 1552.3(h). Non-U.S. citizens desiring flight training in the United States must be vetted by TSA prior to initiating any flight training. This course provides the aeronautical knowledge required for the FAA Private Pilot Airplane written (knowledge) exam and prepares students for flight training. Curriculum is aligned with the Private Pilot Certification Course contained in the appendix B of FAR Part 141; and includes aircraft systems, principles of flight, flight instruments, regulations, weather theory and services, navigation, airspace, performance and weight and balance, flight planning, aeromedical factors, flight safety, risk management, and aeronautical decision-making.
