AERO 36 Remote Pilot Ground School Units: 3 Hours: 54 hours LEC Grade Options: Letter Grade or Inc. This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the technology, regulations, and operational procedures of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), commonly referred to as drones, used for commercial purposes. Students will analyze the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) 14 CFR Part 107 regulations, National Airspace System (NAS) classifications, and aviation weather as they apply to remote pilot operations. Key topics include UAS flight physics, battery management, risk assessment, and crew resource management (CRM) in professional environments. Practical application focuses on mission planning, pre-flight inspections, and basic flight maneuvers using industry-standard platforms. Successful completion of this course prepares the student for the FAA Remote Pilot Knowledge Test required for commercial UAS (Remote Pilot) certification. (CSU)
