A-TRN 75 Behind-the-Wheel Training & DMV Testing Units: 3 Hours: 36 hours LEC; 54 hours LAB Grade Options: Letter Grade or Pass/No Pass Limitations on Enrollment: Student is a registered State indentured apprentice. Advisories: A-TRN 71 with a minimum grade of “C”. This classroom/lab instruction course for Coach Operator Apprentices focuses on the practical skills and knowledge necessary to operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently. The training covers essential driving techniques, including vehicle maneuvering, defensive driving, and adherence to traffic laws and regulations. Apprentices will gain experience in various driving conditions, learn to perform pre-trip inspections, and understand the importance of vehicle maintenance. This course also prepares apprentices for the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) CDL test, ensuring they are well-equipped to meet the standards required for professional driving. Emphasizing safety, precision, and confidence, this course aims to develop competent and responsible drivers. Per California Code of Regulations, this course is limited to students admitted to the Bus Operator Apprenticeship Program. Units earned in this course do not count toward the Associate degree.
