NURS 093V Work Experience: Associate Degree Nursing
Units: 1-4 Prerequisites: NURSADN 002 Introduction Medical-Surgical Nursing or NURSADN 004 Maternal, Newborn, and Reproductive Health Nursing or NURSADN 005 Infancy Through Young Adult Nursing or NURSADN 006 Intermediate Medical-Surgical Nursing each with a grade of “C” or better as required by employer. Limitations on Enrollment: Admission to the Associate Degree Nursing Program. This course is designed to give the student college credit for on-the-job experience when correlated with a course relating to that job. This course is designed for the student participating in an occupational work experience in health science. Application of discipline-related skills and knowledge are emphasized. Each student is engaged in specific on-the-job learning activities under the supervision of a work site supervisor and a college work experience instructor. Students must work 75 paid or 60 non-paid hours per unit earned. To register, complete an application form available at the Health Sciences Division Office, Locke 203.
