MATH 20 Finite Mathematics Units: 3 Prerequisites: MATH 92S Intermediate Algebra (STEM) , MATH 192B Intermediate Algebra II , MATH 37 College Algebra , or MATH 37EX College Algebra with Support with a grade of “P”, “C”, or better or qualifying placement . This course is designed to fulfill the mathematics requirements of the student in business administration, management, life sciences, or social sciences. The course covers a variety of topics including linear functions, systems of equations and inequalities, matrices, linear programming, elementary combinatorial techniques, sets, Venn diagrams, elementary probability, and the mathematics of finance. Application problems to business, economics and social sciences are emphasized throughout. Graphing calculators are used extensively. The TI-84 PLUS is used for instructor demonstrations.
