Horticulture - Irrigation Technician Certificate of Achievement

Upon successful completion of the Horticulture - Irrigation Technician certificate, the student will demonstrate skills, knowledge, and training necessary to take the Irrigation Association’s: Certified Irrigation Technician, Certified Water Auditor, and/or Certified Irrigation Contractors exams, and to gain employment as a(n): Irrigation Technician, Landscape Manager or Groundskeeper, or Landscape Contractor. The student will demonstrate skills and understanding of landscape plant health and growth requirements, common landscape maintenance practices, and irrigation component repair.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

  1. Apply knowledge and understanding of plant growth characteristics and health requirements to critically solve common problems in the landscape.
  2. Understand and apply basic business skills critical to the landscape management industry, such as time management, attention to detail, and consistency.
  3. Demonstrate technical skills and knowledge necessary for employment in the landscape management industry, specifically related to irrigation design and repair.
