Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)/Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) Certificate of AchievementThe student successfully completing the Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)/Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) Certificate of Achievement will acquire skills to qualify for entry-level employment in several areas. Trades involved in the construction of buildings and bridges, utilize these skills as well as other industries such as motorsports/automotive design, robotics, industrial maintenance, and heavy equipment fabrication. The student will be proficient in the setup/maintenance of the required equipment for these processes, able to identify proper electrodes/shielding gases for joining a given material type and thickness, operate the required equipment in a safe and proper manner, display significant manipulatory skills in multiple weld positions and as well have sufficient understanding of proper layout and measuring procedures. In addition, the student will be able to describe and demonstrate important employability skills such as proper work ethic, team building, and interpersonal communication practices and their importance in the workplace.
