Creative Writing Certificate of AchievementThe Creative Writing Certificate of Achievement prepares students for entry-level jobs in fields such as tutoring, editing and publishing, and journalism, while providing the tools and practice to build a writing portfolio to apply for other in-demand careers in writing. Through a purposeful sequence of courses, students will explore their creative potential through practice in poetry, fiction, non-fiction, and dramatic writing. In addition, students will gain extensive practice in reading literature from diverse voices that will help them learn how to express their own individual voices and share stories from those who they are in community with. The certificate prepares students to progress towards an English transfer degree, and it better positions English transfer degree holders to transfer to English or Creative Writing programs at four-year institutions.
