Administrative Assistant II Certificate of Achievement

Upon successful completion of the Administrative Assistant II Certificate of Achievement, students will demonstrate intermediate knowledge, skills, and hands-on training required for entry-level to intermediate-level employment in administrative-related professions such as Administrative Office Assistant, Office Assistant, Administrative Assistant, Clerical Specialist, Office Receptionist, or Administrative Professional. Students will exhibit proficiency in keyboarding and document processing, professional business communication, office software, and office management practices, including the organization and maintenance of electronic and physical filing systems. Graduates of this Intermediate-level certificate program will also demonstrate foundational competency in Microsoft Office Professional Suite and Google Workspace applications, as well as the ethical and practical use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) tools to enhance administrative productivity and informed decision-making. Additionally, students will gain practical experience using essential office technologies, including webcams, multifunction copiers, and open-source software. This certificate serves as the second level in the four-tier Administrative Executive Professional/Office Manager career pathway, providing a strong foundation for continued advancement in administrative and executive support careers.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate the ability to use entry-level to intermediate Microsoft Office software suite and Google Workspace application skills in a business environment.
- Identify, describe, and apply ethical best practices and responsible use guidelines of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) powered applications, such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or Google Gemini, to complete administrative professional tasks, including document creation, communication, and scheduling.
- Develop foundational office management competencies by integrating administrative, accounting, and office software tools into simulated administrative professional scenarios and business documents. Upon completion, students will be able to apply office management principles, create, organize, and analyze data using Microsoft Excel, and perform essential administrative professional tasks, including basic accounting tasks, to support small-business or departmental operations.
