The Automation Technician - Mechatronics Certificate of Achievement advanced certificat builds upon the foundational Electronics Technology Certificate of Achievement and prepares students for technician and specialist roles in today’s industrial and smart technology environments. The program features a comprehensive, hands-on curriculum with a strong emphasis on real-world applications of automation systems, industrial robotics, and connected technologies. Students gain practical experience in areas such as industrial control systems, FANUC robotics, Human-Machine Interface (HMI) integration, and advanced troubleshooting of complex mechatronic systems. Through a structured sequence of courses in electronics, robotics, engineering technology, mechanical systems, programming, network communication, and problem-solving, graduates are well-prepared for careers as Automation Technicians, Industrial Mechanics, or Smart Systems Technicians in advanced manufacturing and industrial settings.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Operate and program industrial robots.
- Create a Ladder Logic Diagram to control a Programmable Logic Controller.
- Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot robotics circuits at 100% accuracy to industry standards.
