Computer Programming, Competence Certificate of Achievement

Upon successful completion of the Computer Programming - Competence Certificate, the student demonstrates skills, knowledge, and training for employment as a programmer trainee and to logically solve problems in at least one programming language; and continues preparation for an AA degree and/or for transfer to a four-year college.

Program Learning Outcomes

1. Demonstrate understanding of basic Operating System concepts and ability to utilize that knowledge to setup the Operating System of a computer system.
2. Demonstrate the skills to use application software such as word processing, spreadsheet processing programs, and database management system.
3. Demonstrate the skills to plan, create, test, and debug computer programs using procedural programming or Object-Oriented Programming techniques.
4. Demonstrate understanding of how the different parts of a computer performs by diagnosing a problem and also perform the necessary diagnostic task.
