The Entrepreneurship certificate prepares students to launch a new business. The focus is on developing the entrepreneurial mindset, identifying and evaluating business opportunities, pitching the business idea, and developing a business plan.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Apply marketing, sales, advertising and customer service strategies to launch successful businesses.
- Demonstrate knowledge needed to create and effectively pitch a business plan to prospective lenders and investors.
- Develop and create an effective e-commerce model for a new entrepreneurial venture.
- Understand the role of culture in entrepreneurship and the factors that contribute to the success of these businesses.
- Demonstrate an understanding of financial concepts and financial statements in relation to entrepreneurship that is unique to a new venture launch from the perspective of an entrepreneur.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the business legal structures and the laws and regulations for start-up businesses.
