MATH 13EX Survey of Calculus with Support Units: 5 Hours: 72 hours LEC; 54 hours LAB Grade Options: Letter Grade Prerequisites: Successful completion of Intermediate Algebra or appropriate placement as determined by the multiple measures assessment process . Advisories: MATH 38A . This course is designed primarily for the student studying business, life science, social science, or engineering technology who wishes an overview of the practical aspects of Calculus, rather than the more rigorous development found in the three-semester sequential Calculus series (MATH 1, 2, 3). This course includes lab time to provide just-in-time review of prerequisite skills, extra content instruction, and active learning opportunities to support student learning. Graphing calculators may be required. Since MATH 13EX and MATH 13 are equivalent courses, credit may be awarded for either MATH 13EX or MATH 13 but not both. (UC, CSU)
