AERO 32 Instrument Pilot Ground School Units: 3 Hours: 54 hours LEC Grade Options: Letter Grade or Inc. Prerequisites: AERO 30 Private Pilot Ground School with a minimum grade of “C”. This course provides an introduction to the specialized theoretical knowledge, procedures, regulations, and techniques required to operate aircraft solely by reference to instruments under FAA Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) and to earn an Instrument Rating on a private pilot license. Students will engage in an in-depth study of advanced navigation systems, aircraft flight instrument systems and malfunctions, IFR weather and weather services, aeromedical factors, IFR flight planning, air traffic control, and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) pertaining to IFR operations.
