BIOL 11 Humans in the Biological World Units: 4 Advisories: MATH 92S and CHEM 3A each with a grade of “C” or better, and ability to read at the 12th grade level. This course will introduce the student to processes and knowledge for all of Biology, by comparing and contrasting humans and other organisms in terms of evolution, the creation and maintenance of homeostasis, and roles played in ecosystems. All major subjects in Biology will be covered, including cell and molecular biology; fundamental anatomy and physiology; and evolution and ecology. The course meets the California State University (CSU) general education laboratory science requirement and Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) requirements. (UC, CSU)
