LAW 16 Introduction to Social Justice: Law and Social Change Units: 3 Advisories: BUS 8 , LAW 2 , and POLSC 1 each with a grade of “C” or better. This course involves the interdisciplinary study of class, ethnicity, gender, and race in the United States. This course examines social justice movements in relation to class, gender, ethnic, and racial groups in the United States to provide a basis for a better understanding of the cultural, political, and socio-economic conditions among key social groups. This course involves the study of the use of law as an instrument for social change. Topics include the examination of the relationship between law and social change in cross-cultural settings, as well as the analysis of legislation, case law, conflict resolution, and legal institutions as they relate to social change.
