ASTRO 1 Introductory Astronomy

Prerequisites: MATH 90 Beginning Algebra with a grade of “C” or better or qualifying placement.
This course is a description of general astronomy covering topics that include our solar system (planets, asteroids, and comets), our Sun, the birth and evolution of stars, galaxies (including the Milky Way), clusters of galaxies, quasars, black holes, and cosmology. (UC, CSU)
