ENG 1A Reading and Composition

Prerequisites: ENG 78B Accelerated Reading and Writing 2, ENG 79 Preparatory English, ENG 94 Accelerated Pre-Transfer Level Composition and Reading, ENG 95 Intensive Reading and Composition Lab, or ESL 59 Advanced College Reading/Writing for Multilingual Students II each with a grade of “P” or better, or cumulative high school GPA 2.6 or higher, or qualifying placement.
Corequisites: Or concurrent enrollment in ENG 95.
This course is a transfer-level, college freshman English composition course comparable to those courses offered by the state college and university systems. Since ENG 1A and ENG 2A are equivalent courses, credit may be awarded for either ENG 1A or ENG 2A but not both. (HBCU, UC, CSU, C-ID ENGL 100)
