PHYSC 10 Introduction to Physics Units: 4 Prerequisites: MATH 90 Beginning Algebra , high school elementary algebra, or a higher level math course with a grade of “C” or better. Advisories: Ability to read at the 12th grade level. This course is designed to introduce the fundamentals of physics to students with no previous background in the subject. The course content surveys selected topics in the areas of mechanics, heat, wave motion, optics, electricity, magnetism, and sound. Emphasis is on critical thinking in problem solving and practical application through laboratory work involving extensive instrumentation and measuring techniques. This course is not designed for the science or engineering major. (HBCU, UC, CSU)
