The Major in Retail Management and Merchandising is designed to develop a strong base of knowledge and skills that will serve as a foundation for further study and/or pursuit of a career.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate a strong base of knowledge and skills that will serve as a foundation for further study and/or pursuit of a career.
- Analyze elements of the retail strategy, marketing, professional selling, financial management in order to lead strategies in merchandise management. This involves working closely with the members of the supply chain to accurately forecast trends, plan stock levels and monitor performance.
- Demonstrate knowledge in the fundamentals of how to plan and direct the work of the organization, set policy, implement legal regulations, establish channels of communication, and evaluate the work performance of others.
