MATH 1EX Calculus I with Support

Prerequisites: MATH 38A Precalculus I and MATH 38B Precalculus II or MATH 38AEX Precalculus I with Support and MATH 38BEX Precalculus II with Support or, MATH 39 Precalculus with a grade of “C” or better, or appropriate placement as determined by the college’s multiple measures assessment process.
This course is the first course in differential and integral Calculus. Topics include: limits and continuity, techniques of differentiation and integration, the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus and applications of differentiation and integration. This course is primarily for Science, Mathematics, Technology, and Engineering majors. This course includes lab time to provide just-in-time review of prerequisite skills, extra content instruction, and active learning opportunities to support student learning. Since MATH 1EX and MATH 1 are equivalent courses, credit may be awarded for either MATH 1EX or MATH 1 but not both. (UC, CSU)
