Advisories: Students are strongly advised to enroll concurrently in the ESL Speaking/listening course of the appropriate level (ESL 9080, ESL 9083, or ESL 9086) based on placement exam scores and multiple measures. In addition, students are strongly advised to enroll concurrently in the ESL grammar course of the same level (ESL 9081).
This noncredit course develops the student’s understanding and use of English in preparation for employment or for beginning a vocational or academic program. It focuses on reading strategies and comprehension, low-intermediate level vocabulary, and paragraph writing. Noncredit courses may be repeated.
