AERO 33 Commercial Pilot Ground School Units: 3 Hours: 54 hours LEC Grade Options: Letter Grade or Inc. Prerequisites: AERO 30 Private Pilot Ground School with a minimum grade of “C”. Advisories: AERO 32 with a minimum grade of “C”. This course provides the aeronautical knowledge required for an FAA Part 61 or Part 141 Commercial Pilot Certificate. Building upon Private Pilot fundamentals, students will engage in an in-depth study of high-performance aircraft systems, advanced aerodynamics, and complex navigation. Key topics include Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) pertaining to commercial operations, professional pilot ethics, air traffic control and airspace, environmental factors, advanced meteorology, crew resource management (CRM), risk management, and the physiological factors affecting pilot performance in professional flight environments. Successful completion of this course prepares the student for the FAA Commercial Pilot Knowledge Test. (CSU)
