ECON 5 Principles of Macroeconomics

Units: 3
Prerequisites: MATH 90 Beginning Algebra, high school elementary algebra, or a higher level mathematics course with a grade of “C” or better.
Advisories: MATH 92S, and ENG 1A or ENG 2A each with a grade of “C” or better and ability to read at the 12th grade level.
An introductory course focusing on aggregate economic analysis. Topics include: market systems, aggregate measures of economic activity, macroeconomic equilibrium, money and financial institutions, monetary and fiscal policy, international economics, and economic growth.
