ECON 3 Principles of Microeconomics Units: 3 Prerequisites: MATH 90 Beginning Algebra , high school elementary algebra, or a higher level mathematics course with a grade of “C” or better. Advisories: MATH 92S , and ENG 1A or ENG 2A each with a grade of “C” or better, and ability to read at the 12th grade level. This is an introductory course focusing on choices of individual economic decision-makers. Topics include scarcity, specialization and trade, market equilibrium, elasticity, production and cost theory, market structures, factor markets, and market failure. (HBCU, UC, CSU, C-ID ECON 201)
